stado database place
Invocation
stado database place [OPTIONS] <NAME>Purpose
Place a fleet database on this host: the host-side half of `create --provider fleet`. Initialises the engine's data under `~/.stado/databases/<name>/`, writes the credential item `<name>-database` into the owner vault and, for postgres, installs the managed unit `<name>-database` that serves it over TLS with a certificate authority of its own. A database already placed here is reported, never initialised twice.
Required inputs and options
| Input or option | Contract |
|---|---|
<NAME> | Logical database name (lowercase letters, digits, dashes) |
--engine <ENGINE> | Engine the database speaks: postgres or sqlite [default: postgres] |
--port <PORT> | Port to listen on (postgres; required: Stado assumes none) |
--json | Emit machine-readable output |
Output and state effect
It performs the operation described above and emits its operator result on standard output or standard error. Any state change is limited to the resources and records named by the purpose and options on this page.
Refusals
- Port to listen on (postgres; required: Stado assumes none)
- Before dispatch, Stado refuses a missing required token shown in the invocation, an unknown option, or a value outside a listed value set; argument-usage failures exit with code 2.
