stado dns delegate

Invocation

stado dns delegate [OPTIONS] --provider <PROVIDER> --api-credential <API_CREDENTIAL> --credential <CREDENTIAL> <ZONE>

Purpose

Move a zone's serving to the DNS host named by --provider: every record written there first, then the registrar's nameservers pointed at the host's and read back. Refused before any write when the zone holds a record type the host cannot carry (Namecheap URL redirects), naming those records.

Required inputs and options

Input or optionContract
<ZONE>Zone name, for example wisent.com
--provider <PROVIDER>The DNS host that will serve the zone [possible values: cloudflare]
--api-credential <API_CREDENTIAL>Skarbiec item holding the DNS host's API token in `api_key` that may create zones and DNS records
--credential <CREDENTIAL>Skarbiec item holding api_user, api_key, username and client_ip
--jsonEmit machine-readable output

Output and state effect

It performs the operation described above and emits its operator result on standard output or standard error. Any state change is limited to the resources and records named by the purpose and options on this page.

Refusals

  • Before dispatch, Stado refuses a missing required token shown in the invocation, an unknown option, or a value outside a listed value set; argument-usage failures exit with code 2.
