CLI reference / public-status

stado public-status

Invocation

stado public-status <COMMAND>

Purpose

Whether the components people rely on work: `check` asks every component the catalog declares under `public_status` once and publishes state, since when and the last failed check; `show` reads what was published; `serve` is the public status page that reads it

Required inputs and options

This command has no command-specific inputs or options.

Output and state effect

This command group selects one of the subcommands listed below; use its exact child invocation to perform an operation.

Refusals

  • Before dispatch, Stado refuses a missing required token shown in the invocation, an unknown option, or a value outside a listed value set; argument-usage failures exit with code 2.

Subcommands

  • check — Ask every declared component once, from this machine, and publish what each answered beside what the last check recorded
  • show — The published state of every declared component: since when, and the last failed check with the answer that failed it
  • serve — The public status page on --bind (`host:port`), as its own unit on a host apart from the products it reports on: every request reads the published document again, and one that cannot be read is answered 503 naming why. `/` is the page, `/status.json` the document
